Family Ties Adult Center is open to all individuals who are diagnosed as having Alzheimer's Disease or who are suffering from confusion, forgetfulness, dementia, loneliness or other debilitating diseases. Our center provides respite to the primary caregivers. This allows the caregiver time to accomplish daily responsibilities, rest and recharge their own battery, while their loved ones are being cared for in a safe secure and stimulating environment. The center provides an option to families other than placement in a long-term care facility. Payment is based on the family’s ability to pay. This eases the financial burden associated with long-term care.
Stimulating activities and socialization are a vital part of the center's daily routine. This provides an opportunity for the participant to gain a sense of accomplishment an retain their current level of cognitive and physical capabilities as long as possible. Other important services we offer are supervision, companionship, personal care, regular exercise, transportation, hot noon meal, and snacks.
Family Ties is primarily funded by a grant from Northpointe Behavioral Healthcare Systems, with additional funding from Dickinson County Senior Millage, State and Federal Grants, the United Way of Dickinson County and private pay donations. Family Ties is a program of Dickinson Iron Community Services Agency.
